My grandmother Norma Merle Dixon descends from a family that originally came from Armagh, Ireland with her great grandfather to Rockwood, Ontario (outside of Guelph) before homesteading in the small farming town of Rocanville, Saskatchewan. I’ve traced the family back 4 generations to my great x 3 grandparents John Dixon & Catherine McQuillan who both came to Canada before starting their family. Their son, my great x 2 grandfather Joshua Richard Dixon, and his wife Sarah Melissa Ammerman were both born and raised in Ontario, and started their family there too, before deciding to make their way out west to Saskatchewan looking for cheaper land. Their son, my great-grandfather Alvin Moody Dixon, born when his family was living in Mount Forrest, Ontario stayed in Rocanville. He farmed in the town along with his wife Lula Ann Jane Millin, who came from another homesteading family.
While I have a great deal of information on this family, their stories are still forthcoming in the future.

Emily Ammerman died in 1929 (according to the Crandall Manitoba website under Matthew Edward Vance family history).
In 1899, he married Emily Ammerman of Rocanville (formerly of Clifford, Ont). She predeceased him in 1929.

I11111111111111111111 I am a desendant from the Crosswell/ Millin Family. In my research I have found that My Great Aunt Lula was also related to John Dixon / Catherine Mcquillan. Aurthur Millin married Jane Dixon( b 1838 ) in Mount Forest, Grey County, Ontario. They are both buried in the Rocanville cemetery
